What does multi-room mean?
Multi-room is a recent trend and means audio systems that can be played simultaneously in multiple rooms. Multi-room speakers are also known as Wifi-speakers and they consist of a speaker box and an amplifier. They usually work wireless and are connected to each other through a mutual network – via Wifi, Bluetooth or an ethernet cable. If the speaker does not run on battery it will also need a power cable.
Controlling with an App
Because the speakers hardly have any buttons, they can conveniently be controlled with an app. Apple iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets are usually supported. Some devices also support Windows Phone. All Wifi speakers are logged into the same network, therefore guests who have the app installed and are logged into your home wifi can control your speakers, too.
